Leaving Etsy’s Sales Platform

This year I will be working on migrating all of my artwork, prints and merch off of Etsy and onto Squarespace. It is a big task but it will be for the best. I already pay yearly for Squarespace, so why not use it instead of Etsy (they take a big percentage of my sales which is very discouraging).

I checked my revenue (gross sales) for last year, and out of the approximately $400 measly dollars made, I pocketed approximately $90 after Etsy fees. That $90 vanishes into thin air and goes into the red after all of my production expenses. On top of that, the USA-imposed tariffs and subsequent QR-code shipment fiasco has been sheer hell to deal with at the postal office.

I used to be able to just print off my labels at home for USA shipments from Canada but that is no longer the case. It won’t be any easier even if I am selling from my own website / Squarespace but at least I’ll get to keep more of my revenue (gross sales) here.

I’ll see how it goes and then report back after some time!
